Ourika, magnificent landscapes of the High Atlas. The small villages and towns, surrounded by orchards and lush fields, A trip to the Ourika Valley is a great escape from
the heat and noise of Marrakech. The first 30 minutes of the drive are rather dull and flat, but the scenery becomes breathtaking as you approach Berber villages and landscapes.
It is truly amazing to see the tremendous amount of hard work put in by the Berber communities in the area. They were not afraid to carry heavy materials up the mountainside to construct small houses, or to work on terraces to grow crops in a very challenging environment.
